Course Description

A simulated patient [SP] is an individual who is trained to act as a real patient in order to simulate a set of symptoms/ problems. Simulated patients have been successfully used in Medical Education, Nursing Education, Evaluation & Research. The simulated patients have extensively contributed to Health Professions Education by allowing learners to practice and improve their clinical & conversational skills for an actual patient encounter ‘Becoming a Simulated Patient – Foundations Course Certificate’ program is aimed at simulated patients or individuals who are interested to be SPs to get a basic understanding of SP Program, roles and responsibilities of SPs and related logistics.

Course Objectives

Up on successful completion of the course, the learners will be able to:

Duration

Senior Simulation Educator - Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor Medical Simulation Center (KHMSC)

Meghana Sudhir is a Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator -Advanced (CHSE-A) with several years of experience in health professions education and more than a decade in Simulation-Based Education [SBE]. She has been instrumental in setting up Simulated Patient Program in the United Arab Emirates and leads the program at MBRU. She is the recipient of the most prestigious award, ‘ASPE Outstanding Educator of the Year 2021’
